Hi,
I'll be going to Europe for my honeymoon in end-aug to mid-sept with a tour grp. Have decided to extend some days after the tour for some F&E in Paris.
Did research and read reviews off tripadvisor and venere.com, and have filtered down to the following 5 choices, with my budget being <= Euro100 per nite.
Hotel Innova 75015
Hotel du Parc 75014
Hotel Plessis 75011
Ibis Paris Avenue D'Italie 75013
Hotel Palym 75012
Any comments or advises on which is better? This will be our first trip to Europe, so basically, looking for a place in a relatively safe district to explore Paris via. Also, do we need those accommodations with air-con, if we'll be in paris btw the period of 10/09 to 15/09?
Thanks all! ^_^

Violetcrystal, it would be a great help to parisians, (and to you) if you would care to give us the names of the streets. Some of them can be in an unpleasant area, and frankly I feel too lazy to find the hotel streets on Google... Thanks
I can however dismiss avenue d'Italie which is not particularly agreeable.

finna, thanks for pointing that out. =) Here are the streets of those accommodations.
Hotel Innova 32, boulevard Pasteur 75015
Hotel du Parc 6, rue Jolivet 75014
Hotel Plessis 25, rue du Grand Prieuré 75011
Ibis Paris Avenue D'Italie 15 bis Avenue d'Italie 75013
Hotel Palym 4, rue Emile Gilbert 75012
thanks a lot. ^_^

Thanks
Well this is my input..
Bd pasteur is ok but may be noisy. Ask for a room on the back if possible. The area is safe and conveniently situated.
rue Jolivet is also very central and convenient, a lively district with bars, theatres, etc.. with the night animation which might go with it but the hotel looks like it's on a small park and in a small street. Should be nice.
Hotel Plessis should be ok, the area is popular , lots of cafés; restaurants and charm.
Hotel Palym may be in a quiet street, but the area close to Gare de Lyon is not the best.
All these areas are quite safe, apart from maybe the Hotel Palym and no you shouldn't need air-con at that time of the year but you never know, it could be hot at the beginning of Sept.
Enjoy Paris !

Would not stay at the Ibis on my honeymoon, it has about as much athmosphere as a supermarket.
I was looking for accomodation my self this week and noticed that 100 Euro/night is budget accomodation in Paris.
Ferdinand

Thanks finna & Ferdinard for both your input. =D
Okie, have decided to strike the Ibis one off my list le. =)
And appreciate finna for doing the breakdown analysis to me. Shall show that to my hubby and see what he says. =)
Yah, noticed that 100Euro/night is for budget ones in Paris, but hubby prefer to keep to that, and spend the extras on sight-seeing & meals, whatever. =)

Stick to the 80-100 euro budget, because the step to say 160 Euro/night still wont get you anything fancy.
The low budget options often get you something with caracter.
I booked yesterday for Hotel de la Herse d'Or on Rue Saint-Antoine at 60 Euro/night, going next week.
Ferdinand
I think I would have gone for the Ibis -- it's near Chinatown and also very close to rue Mouffetard.

Hadn't even noticed that you were from Singapore. Oh, most definitely please stay near Place d'Italie. Some of the best Asian food in the world (according to my friends from Singapore). Yes, of course you'll have many occasions to eat European food, too.
