I have never to Paris or any other parts of France. In Europe, London and Santorini were only 2 places I have been to. My hubby is going there to work in London, Paris and Gevena. I plan to follow him to Paris and Geneva. I would love to find some out of town places in France to stay over the weeken to to spend my lazy days: doing nothing but taking photo and taking a bike. I'd love to see the countryside of France. Anyone could suggest where about I have to go.
Thank you
:-)

How many weekends do you have in each place? Do you plan on cycling there? If not how will you transport the bike?

Lots of interesting countryside not so far from Paris. Eg the "Brie" region southeast of Paris. Nice landscapes and interesting villages and towns. Provins is a nice medieval town. The Vaux le Vicomte castle is not far and definitely worth a visit.
Rambouillet is nice too, has a nice forest.
A bit further you have of course the Loire valley which is nice for cycling too.
Northwest, Normandy is not very far. Has a beautiful coastline, nice castles and good food.

I did a driving trip around France in October and stumbled across a town called Pont L'Eveque near Honfleur. I have been to France many times and this is one of the most beautiful villages I have ever seen. It was built in the 14 century and was almost completely undamaged during both world wars leaving the original village intact. It is like something you would expect on a film set. Apparently the town is known for it's cheeses although I never got to try any while I was there.
We stayed in a renovated barn/stables of a very grand farm house just out of town, that I can highly recommend. It was 100 Euros for 3 people per night including breakfast.
Antiques Roadshow would have loved this place. Below our room was the owners collection of vintage cars that he was more then happy to show us. The owners were very welcoming and professional knowing a great deal about their town and speaking English fluently was also helpful.
I can't recall the name of the B & B at the moment but if you are interested email me a private message and I can email you some photos and the name once I find it.
