Well,
Thank you to all who replied to my recent post asking about "French Villages"-
It was hard to decide before I made the post whether I'd be seen as someone with absolutely no imagination whatsoever, or maybe just couldn't read a guide-book-
But, back came these wonderful, helpful and clearly experienced replies-
Sifting through them now, and I will pick out one or two locations for the coming holiday-
Just thanks from Australia.

BTW, you didn't react on my #11 there. As long as we don't know your interpretation of 'village', most answers there might not meet your criteria. And even now, we still don't know what you were looking for. Arles, Orange, Chinon all are towns.
