Hi,

I am hoping to take some individual French classes (ie on a one-on-one basis) in France around Christmas this year (22 Dec - 2 Jan), but Alliance Française is closed everywhere except in Rouen. Even in Rouen, it seems that only 2 or 3 days of classes can be arranged, and I am looking to do 5-6 days during that period.

So, I am now trying to identify other good French teachers / schools that can provide classes during those couple of weeks. I don't mind where to go - anywhere in France will do!

Any recommendation would be gratefully received. Thanks!!

Hi,
Because I've stayed in the Languedoc region a number of times I'm aware of the University at Montpellier (one of the oldest in France) and because it does draw students from all over the world, there are also a number of schools that teach French.
I don't know if this particular school is open over the holidays (I looked at their site but didn't see a schedule) but they do offer one-on-one classes (as I'm sure they all do)...
Anyway, here's the link for the one school and you could look for other schools in the area to see what else is offered:

Montpellier has a smallish but good airport and good train connections. It's got plenty of history and since it's close to the Mediterranean, you'd probably have better weather than in the north of France.
You might also check tripadvisor for reviews of schools...
Bonne chance!

Most (probably all) schools goes with the academic year and closed in your time for holidays. One solution can be to find private lessons given by private tutors / teacher. If you try Google for?

Thank you to both sfgirl42 and regards. I did initially prefer the south over the north due to better weather in winter, but I have now got to the point that I will go anywhere I can find someone who is willing work during that period! LSF's price list indicates it is closed from 20 Dec to 4 Jan, but I sent them an inquiry anyway to see if private lessons could still be arranged.

I will try Tripadvisor and Google as well. Thanks!
