They're all OK- but it would help if you define what 'OK' means to you.

Also, it depends a lot WHERE you are in these arrondissements. E.g. the 17th has several distinct neighbourhoods- some of them very convenient in terms of shops, transports, restos, some of them very residential.

Well, all of Paris is "French".

I agree that those 3 areas are fine but don't forget that since they are less touristy, some of the local businesses like bakeries and small shops will be closed in August when the owners go on vacation.

none of these arrondissements are 'touristy'.

I know the 17th best- I'd recommend the areas around either
Rue de Levis (a Market)
Rue des Dames
Rue de Batignolles
Rue Brochant (market)
Perreire
Rue Poncelet (market)
Rue de Courcelles
Rue Lebon (market)

and over in the 18th Rue Coulaincourt

You see, lots of places.

I suggest you look for possible accommodation options and then post the addresses here- that's a more targeted approach than us listing an infinite number of places.
