hi everyone - I'm hoping to go camping in Ardèche in summer and would love to take my scooter.. trouble is i'm still on L plates - do you need to have a full licence to get the thing onto the ferry in the first place or is it ok to scooter around on L plates in france???

I'm 99% sure that you can't drive in France on a non-French licence without a full one from home.

Having said that; kids from 15 in France can drive scooters up to 50cc, so I'm not sure how they'd get you, if you didn't 'prove' that you were a learner

The issue might be insurance. Not sure if your insurance company will cover you if abroad. I'd check with them as well
