I think even I would take Monet's Gardens over Disney Paris. Why fly always across the Atlantic to see Disney with all the other fantastic options available to you. You can see Disney back home back home with a McDonalds, Starbucks and Burger King.

I have been to Europe six times and spent over two and a half months in Paris over the years and still want to go back to see more that I never had time to see. Please do a search on this forum for day trips from Paris. FrenchMistique put together an excellent post of the many that are possible and how the get there. He did it a couple years ago and there were at least twenty or more to pick from.

I would also recommend you spend some time here to see what else is also available in France that may be of interest to you. http://anyportinastorm.proboards.com/board/24/france
and this for Paris: http://anyportinastorm.proboards.com/board/46/paris

I see with children the ages of 6 and 8 you would like to do something that might be of interest to them. They may be a little young to find the places themselves, but maybe you could give them a selection and let them be in on the planning of what to do on that day or days.

Wow, I got lucky and found it. The following link will take you to French_Mistiques reply to information on day trip from Paris: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/europe-western-europe/topics/best-daytrips-out-of-paris

This information maybe a little dated and I would suggest you get current information on trips that maybe of interest to you.

Have you been to Versailles ? Maybe watch before you go a movie like "the three musketeers" with your kids and
then go there and therefore travel back in time of King Louis...
...or instead of "Eurodisney" go to the really French Experience and check out "Parc Asterix" ?
