Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help with travel within the French Riviera (Southern French Coastline).
I'm travelling with a friend and am looking to visit a few wineries (vineyards) along the way. We are beginning in Spain and making our way through to Italy via this coastline. We are happy to travel inland, but not too far.
Was wondering if anybody knew of any vineyards or wineries (wine regions) that we could visit. We wouldn't mind staying on a vineyard for a night or two. Prefer something cheap though. I understand that it can be quite expensive throughout the area.
Also any help on where to stop along the way would be fantastic.
Cheers.

Two suggestions: vineyards on the Riveiera are not highly rated, but I would suggest two areas: Cassis (just to the east of Marseilles--very good white) and Bandol (just west of Toulon--finer rose for which the Riviera is renowned). The train journey along the Riviera is beautiful, for the most part following the coast very closely once you get past Toulon going east.
One great source of advice is AngloInfo Riviera (http://riviera.angloinfo.com/default.asp)--this is the chatroom for most ex-pat English speakers in the area. Note: the Riviera is considered to start somewhere around St. Tropez or Frejus, depending on whom you ask.

would recommend heading inland if you want some decent stuff. train/car to Avingnon will give you acces to better options as will driving to Chateauneuf du pape which is just up the road from there.
However, you cant go wrong really if you are aware of what wines are from which regions
