cycling in provence

i am looking to do a short weekend trip to provence. i have not yet decided on which town, although it will largely be based on the ticket cost from geneva.

since i will only have 2-3 days, ideally i would like to stay in one place and spend my day bicycling to nearby smaller towns. any suggestions? i do not want a tour. i just want to explore on my own.

also, is there a site online where i can find a cycling map of the area?

and lastly, does anyone know if you can pay the charge for bringing the bike on the train via online purchase. or must i go to the train station and request in person?
