Hello, My girlfriend and me are considering to visit Corsica for the first time for a week early august. We do not drive a car and are on a budget. We'll looking to relax, enjoy a nice scenery, culture, nature/beach ...

Looking for tips / advice on where to go, what to do, etc.

Hi,
If you are going to Corsica then best option is own car as train offer nice view but are slow & less in numbers. Buses is also not a good option as area is scattered & hard to find places.
So again best option is to hire a car, if you don't drive a car.
Cheers!

Corsica is stunningly beautiful almost everywhere and i love the island but since you have mentioned 'considering' and 'budget' and you are not driving, honestly i would consider going elsewhere this time. Also, you don't have a point of entry yet which makes it hard to come with suggestions.
Corsica is more expensive than mainland France and the prices for accommodation really peak there in August. Many places have 4 to 5 price levels according to the season and of course August is the most expensive month to go and most of the budget places will already be fully booked...
Maybe you can keep Corsica for a future trip when you don't have to go in August? That would be my suggestion to any traveller who is on a budget.

Not knowing what your budget for accommodation is, do an exercise on booking.com on your dates and select the cheaper places to come first. Most of the cheaper places with availability and with reasonable reviews are in locations that will be hard to reach for you without a car.

Thanks for the replies. We decided to go elsewhere and keep Corsica for a cycling vacation later on.
