Hi all!
In October I'm going with my future husband and our 1 and a hlaf year old son to Europe. After Munich and Basel we are going to Annecy. We will be staying four nights there and two nights in Chambery. We will be renting a car.
Which villages do you suggest we visit? I heard that Aix-les-bains is worth it and Chamonix, but I'm not so sure if it's convenient to go with a young boy.
We love cheese and would love to go to cheese towns and 'fruitieres'
Any suggestion is very welcome!
Thank you very much and have anice weekend!
Sandra

Hi,
Chamonix is a very pretty place, not particularly the city, but especially the nature around, with the mountains, the Mont Blanc, the glaciers and all these beautiful landscapes.
Chamonix is a medium sized town with very good restaurants and shops, but if you are looking rather small isolated villages, then you should rather look towards Les Houches, Servoz or Argentières.
Chamonix and the region is not very close to Annecy (1h30 by car I think) but worth the trip, especially if you love nature.
Concerning cheese, this is the good place: Beaufort, Reblochon, Tome de Savoie, Abondance, etc ...
All these cheeses are delicious and you can already find in Annecy! (The capital of Reblochon is called Thones and it is very close to Annecy, it's a pretty little village with a very good cheese store at the entrance of the city)!
In Annecy, you can rent bikes and ride around the lake, it's very nice!
Enjoy this beautiful region !!
