I see that the cantine at BHV (department store rue de Rivoli in the Marais) has re-opened, and gets good reviews - thoough 10€ is not exactly cheap for a lunch where workers stop to eat: Ma Cantine - BHV

I remember a very good "cantine" belonging to an association in the 10th arrondissement; can't think of the name - it was cheaper than that and the food was abundant and decent. There are other restos associatifs about, and some cantines of various descriptions are open to the public.

Not romantic meal spots, but some have surprisingly good food, and can be especially likely spots for lone travellers to rest their feet and have lunch.

At the heart of Paris, a lunch at 10€ is cheap.
