Camp Fuel on Tour de Mont Blanc

Not sure about Les Houches, but have a feeling that you may strike lucky in Chamonix.

May be worth Googling outdoor shops in Les Houches and Chamonix and contacting the stores to find out which brands they stock.

Cartridge brands to look for are MSR, Coleman, Primus (all have screw thread fittings, unlike the Campingaz cartridges that have a spigot fitting which is used on more specialised Campingaz stoves).

Have used MSR, Coleman and Primus carts on my own MSR Pocket Rocket here in the UK - great performance with all three branded carts on the Pocket Rocket.

Can't remember whether there is an advisory from MSR on using their carts only with the Pocket Rocket - you may need to check this out yourself - but I've had no problems with using other carts and members of staff of the outdoor store I used to manage here in the UK also used other carts on their Pocket Rockets.

Yep, it was the stove that almost every member of staff had!

I'll search for outdoors shops in Chamonix on the web and ask them about those specific brands. But just knowing that the pocket rocket is pretty ubiquitous gives me hope that fuel won't be too hard to source.
