Hi folks! We're travelling from Nice to Bastia in June. Ferry arrives at 7:55 pm and car rentals close to port seem to be closed that time. Is it easy to get a taxi from the ferry port? Or is there a regular bus service running at that time? We have three kids so we'd appreciate an easy means of travel. Thank you!

The airport is 20km from the ferry port, so probably best to stay in Bastia that night, pick your car up in the morning. The port is pretty much in the centre of town so you could easily walk to a hotel, but i am sure there will be taxis close by.

Thanks Richiavo! I'm trying to find some taxi companies but for a non-French speaker that seems quite hard... good thing there's Google Translate, lol!

I agree with richiavo that if you're arriving at 8pm, I'd walk into town to a local hotel and pick up a car the next day.
However, if you prefer a taxi from the port and don't want to wing it, you could try this site:

btw we caught the same ferry (but in late September) and if I remember correctly it was almost dark when we arrived at our hotel. I wouldn't want to be driving in the dark in unfamiliar surroundings.

The crossing was fine. I travelled with my teenage daughter and we played cards, read books, etc. I tend to get seasick so took a tablet just in case but the sea was calm and had no queasiness at all.
We had 10 days on Corsica, travelling by train, and had a great time. It's a lovely place. Enjoyed Nice too, where we had a week and explored some of the neighbouring towns.
btw I haven't used those web links but found them using google - no personal recommendation but they look fine.
