Hello folks
My partner and I arrive in Paris at 10.40pm then fly out again at 3pm the next day - this is around the end of August. With just one night and one morning in Paris we want it all: we want to experience the essence of Paris, be able to find a lovely breakfast somewhere closeby, and we don't want to be TOO far from the airport (CDG). I guess we could pay about 60 euro between us.
Any suggestions appreciated.
cheers

paris

cheap but not nasty is the formule 1 hotel near the metro stop port d'orleans

its about 45 euro a night...shared basic showers but clean ..

freindly service ...
this hotel is situated on the fringes of paris and you will need to catch the metro back into paris itself.

there are some good restaurants around the d'orlean metro but i would suggest exploring the eiffel tower first as all major tourist attractions are shown actually on the eiffel tower from the viewing platform with distances and directions ...plus the view is amazing.
arc de triomph can be accessed by foot from the eiffel tower, also walk around the latin quartier and into town onto moulin rouge....

the louvre can take more than one day to explore...for an eerie and unusual adventure go to the catacombs which is a few stops from d'orlean on the way into the city..take a torch .

try pain au chocolate and coffee for breakfast ...practice a few phrases in french

je ne parle pas " i dont speak french" vous parlez anglais "do you speak english" are helpful ...
metro runs till after midnight...you must catch a metro back into paris then catch the rer to the airport

just a bit to help ....pm me with more direct questions ...hope that helps...

ill be in paris 4th and 5th july and also from 1st to 5th august if you like to catch up for a coffee and chat.

I usually stay at El Dorado. Formule 1 may be indeed cheaper.
