Please check the TR for my time in Salzburg with trips to the Werfen ice caves and castle and also a stout hike up Untersberg.
Great time but not nearly enough.
Cheers.

Hi....
Sounds like a great trip.
Are you a regular cave explorer?
I've done many, the world over - and have different opinions on different caves.
If you are a cave explorer, how does this trip compare to others you've seen?
Nice blog.... Thanks.

Another very enjoyable report, Jon...you're a fit man if you're willing to hike it up to the Eisriesenwelt...
The Euro Hostel in Bad Gastein is a real gem and the upgrades to the single rooms are a traveller's joy...plus excellent food and service in the bar as well...

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't call myself a cave explorer but I have been to several. I really liked the ice caves, certainly very unique. But for "plain" caves without ice it might be hard to beat the show caves in Gunung Mulu Nat. Park in Malaysia.
As for walking to the ice caves, got to burn off all the beer and pastries before I blimp out. Wish I'd had the time. Maybe today up to Graubkogel. You're certainly right about the restaurant, great food and incredible value.

It was a super place years ago with a great, friendly young team...I dropped by last July - after an absence of 5 years - for a night en-route from Klagenfurt to Munich and all was still excellent but I didn't spot any of the old staff...do you know if Daniel, the Swedish barman, is still there?...
