Take the eurail pass for travelling inside austria

Very few people here would agree with that. Many would tell you it's the most expensive way to travel among European countries - and even more so within the same country.

To give you an idea of train prices:

Vienna - Salzburg is 47,50 €
Vienna - Innsbruck 58, 30 €

That is one way, if you travel Vienna - Innsbruck you can break your journey for a night in Salzburg without paying extra.

You are not under 26, are you? If you are, tell me, and I'll explain you an option for getting half price tickets in Austria.

Public transport in Vienna is good, I don't see a reason for a guided tour.

Am planning going to Prague-Cesky K-then planning on taking a bus to Salzburg (apparently there are a few bus services from there)...finishing off in Vienna as my flight back to India is from there.
