Hi all. I am planning to do some hut to hut hiking in Austria in the last two weeks of June. I would prefer to not make reservations in advance, so I am free to go where I want on any given day. Does anyone have any advice as to whether I am likely to find myself out of luck for a place to stay? There will be three of us traveling together.

Much appreciated.

I can assume you don't cross through the entire Austrian alps in 3 days. When you start at a certain place, there are only so many huts in the near proximity where you will sleep the next day.
It all depends on the hut. Austria has hundreds of them.
During the week no problem, on weekends you may end up sleeping on a bench or in the hallway.
