any recommended bike tours in vienna or should i rent a bike and just use a map?

Vienna has a bunch of free bikes around the city - you can register on the spot and just need a credit card for a deposit.

Vienna is not a paradise for bikers, but it is possible to go everywhere by bike. Just be careful, because the car drivers sometimes act in a very dangerous way. You can get free (and quite detailed) maps at the tourist agencies.
If you want to take longer tours, the area around Vienna is very nice. I recommend the tour from Vienna to Bratislava for a day trip (around 70 km/45 mls), you can take the train or a bus back.
The free bikes mentioned in the last post are just for the city center, you are not allowed to take them for longer tours.
