I have heard from friends and strangers that Prague is a wonderful place to spend a Christmas in.

a white christmas in Europe isn´t easy at all.At most places it is quite common that there won´t be any snow. You have to look for a place in the Alps at 1000 meters or above. Ofcourse most of these places are ski resorts but there are some exceptions. Mittenwald for example at the border of Austria and Germany. Lovely small town

  1. Pray
  2. Go somewhere in Scandanavia
  3. Find a village in the Alps well above 1000m that doesn't have a ski lift.

Northern Scandinavia would best fit your requirements, check the past weather on the Internet of places you might be interested in staying.

Hi - and welcome to Thorn Tree.

I would suggest anywhere (away from a ski resort ! !) in Austria's Tyrol.
Here's a little taster....

Austria is one of my favourite winter locations (except Vienna ! !)
Hope your plans come together nicely.

It depends to a great extent on luck...as always with the weather.....unless you stay high up.

I've stayed in Munich for Christmas twice and it has snowed quite heavily both times.Of course it is no guarantee that it will do so this year as well.

Anyway,Munich is a great place for Christmas...the markets (which end on Dec.23rd),the cultural stuff, the food and beer etc.

Maybe you want to visit polar circle in Finnish Lappland and experience the polar night. There should always be snow in christmas time.

Normally there is snow in the whole country at that time of the year, but this year we got snow here in southern Finland not until beginning of January.

Prague is even more beautiful than normal when there's snow. Eastern and Central Europe can be very cold and covered in snow, but it can also be rainy and several degrees above zero. Can't predict the weather these days...

Vilnius should normally have snow I think.
