Greetings from Hollywood, California, USA,
I need help developing an itinerary. I am coming from the US and have 6days/5nights from Munich (land here Sept 29th 2012). The time in Europe is so short because I am actually traveling to Kenya &Tanzania (safari), and Uganda (gorilla trek) -- I basically got a 6 day layover in Europe for free and is why I am going to there. My plan was to land in Munich (1 night) > take the train to Salzburg (2 nights) > Innsbruck (1 night) > Zurich (1 night) > fly to Nairobi, Kenya.
I realize that 6 days is not enough time and it will be a very tight schedule but keep in mind that my main holiday will be in Africa for 2 weeks. I like nature and history. Not really the tourist type and like to keep away from over-crowded tourist traps.
Ideally, I'd like places to view beautiful landscapes, explore historical sites and have a good beer. My itinerary is completely open.
Any suggestions? Also, is it cheapest to get a point-to-point train ticket vs a 5 day inter-country pass?
Cheers!
