Anyone know Swinford well?

Trying to do some family research and done a lot of google searches on 'Johnsfort' which is near Swinford. I've never been there because I've only just found out that some of the family is still living in the area (recent family is from Co. Tipp).

Anyone know Johnsfort? Is it a village or hamlet or???

Looks like I might be flying Ryanair sooner rather than later to find out some more! But anyone with any knowledge of this - I'd be grateful for a response!

Its a long shot, but...has anyone done the QLTT to be admitted as a lawyer in the UK?

I'm particularly interested in a precedent for the letter that needs to be given from your former supervisor to exempt you from the experience requirement.

But having said that, I'd also be interested in hearing from you whether you did any face-to-face classes, revision classes, distance learning etc, and which test provider you used.

I'm looking at engaging in some medieval sports such as Falconry and Archery...where are the best places in England to go for this and what sort of prices would one expect to pay? Do any castles do this sort of thing? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

I am planning on going on an exhange to the University of Limerick from September - December, 2007. Just wondering about the town, the best place to live (either near the university or not), best place to party, etc!

I'm one half of a couple, mid-20s, NZers who moved to London last year. We struggled initially to settle and get on top of our finances but seem to be doing better now. We've taken a couple of trips (Paris, Croatia and Egypt) and I just booked flights for a week in Italy.

The problem is my partner is having MAJOR issues with the amount of time and money I want to spend on travel (which was my main motivation in moving to the UK). He finds it difficult to ask for time off from a high-pressure job…

Me and my boy friend think about coming to Edinburgh for 6-7 months. I’ll attend an English Language school( hope to not have a visa problem) and try to find a par-time job( legal for non-EU citizens up to 20hrweek) and he’ll also look for a job. He has dual citizenship (BritishTurkish), He is doing his masters degree in graphic design in Turkey,( he is especially intereted in wood printing) and he also has CELTA. Does he need any other certificate to teach in the UK? We think that it might be…

Has anyone had any experience, either good or bad, shipping stuff home (to NZ or Aus...two of us going home!) from London? There are heaps of companies but we have no idea which are decent! It doesnt need to arrive quickly, just arrive!

(Don't laugh) I am desperate to find somewhere that sells boxes of un-frozen ice poles.

I've tried Morrisons, Sainsburys, Woolworths, with no luck.

Has anybody seen ice poles in any high street chains?

I have to go to Glasgow for a couple of days for some business.
No choice of mine, but I have to stay at East Kilbride. How is the area? Interesting? boring? Any nice place you would recommend there? (pub/restaurant) I have my hotel booked already.

If dead boring, how easy is it go in town from there? Are there buses? IN town, what are your fav? Any place where there's some music?
I've heard shopping in Glasgow was good. Any particular recommendation? (that would stay open late)
