I am thinking of going to the Lakes District Nat'nl park in April, hopefully before the Easter weekend. I will be travelling from Darlington and relying on public transport. I will hope to spend 3 or 4 days maximum walking from town to town or hostel to hostel with a small pack. I'll likely buy an OS map of the park to use and was wondering if anyone can recommend the best area to enjoy great scenery with nice villages and pubs a day's worth of walking in between?
Thanks!

I know that there is a walk along the South Bank of the Thames near the Festival Hall that features "stepping stones" of extracts from famous poems about the Thames and London.
Could anyone give us more information about this?
Many Thanks!
My American husband is shortly to take his UK driving test. He booked a couple of lessons just to make sure I hadn't taught him an endless number of bad habits, and the tutor told him he might not have to do an emergency stop. Everyone I've asked has done one in their test.
Anybody who has passed their test over here ever not done the emergency stop as part of it? And did you pass before or after the 'new' test, with parellel parking, came in?
Hiya...
You probably all remember me from the last thread... yep the wuss who is worried about heading to London to live, well I have a question.
I have been approached by someone to look for a house share together - another aussie (someone I will be meeting before I get to London) and have been looking on the gumtree but there is very little up for grabs as far as two single rooms in the same house... I think I would go insane if I didn't have my own room....
So just wondering if anyone has any…
Hi,
Would appreciate if someone in London could spare some information on my message.
Am considering getting jobs in the hospitality industry because it offers flexibility.

Thanks.
Which one would you pick to stay for 3 nights in London? The Copthorne Tara near the Royal Albert Hall or Hilton Kensington ?? They both cost the same.
