Workaway/Volunteer Visa??

Country forums / UK & Ireland

Just wondering if anyone has any info on visa requirements for volunteering in Ireland. My boyfriend and I are staying with a family for a month on a farm near Dublin. We are volunteering for them through the workaway program (working in exchange for accommodation and food) but we are unaware of the visa requirements (if we even need one) as it's quite hard to find concrete info online. We are both Canadian. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Ireland has no Visa requirements for anyone entering Ireland. The only thing you need to do is tell the Passport official your purpose for being in Ireland, and how long you will be there.

NOTE: Ireland only allows people to remain in the country for three months or less. If you somehow end up staying for longer than 3 months, you will need to register with the Garda, or the Police. No visas are required for long term stays either.
If you were allowed into the country at border control, and plan to stay for longer than three months, you may visit an Irish Immigration center. In Dublin there is the Burgh Quay Registration Office, or you can look up a local registration office if you are not in County Dublin.

I hope that helped!
