I have 1 week (ish) in mid June (ish) and a budget of about £300 GBP each (ish) for two people. Would like to go on a cheap-n-cheerful holiday somewhere hot and sunny with clean beaches, a good choice of eating/self catering options a nice couple of cities/towns to visit and some cultural/heritage sites. We're unable to hire a car so accessible amenities and public transport are important too.

So far we're thinking:

Malta
Greek Island
Somewhere in Spain

Any suggestions within these areas would be great or if anyone has any better ideas (not Italy – too expensive for our budget) I'd love to hear them. Thanks very much x

PS: Also posted on Western Europe branch

On that budget you might want to look into Bulgaria or Croatia, it, starting to get popular and the weather and beaches are ment to be ok as well.

stay away from malta - my stepdad is maltese and i go every year - its a dreadful place, great history etc but only one sandy beach and pasty white english tourists everywhere. basically i always believe that if every place sells a full english breakfast you shouldnt go there.

skiathos in greece is beautiful
sirollo is a cheap ryanair flight to ancona and beautiful (its on the adriatic) - i've had one of my best holidays there
and as the mockney reccomends - bulgaria is equally beautiful

What about Turkey? Great beaches, cheaper than western Europe, good variety.

The blokes above seem to know what they are talking about..

Anywhere that cheap, and you'll probably be looking at package destination, which means the great hordes!

Avoid school holidays!
