Hello

I would like to know one thing or experience people have taken away from a walking trip anywhere in Britain? It could be the Lake District, Scotland or just down your local footpath. I want to know the one memory that stands out above all others that you took from the trip. I'm an art student and your experiences would really help my work.

Thank you so much. Lynz.

When I was about 8-9 years old I took our border collie for a walk. She got very excited and started charging down a small trail in the grass. I chased after her, equally excited, shouting 'what have you found girl! what have you found!' thinking it might be a rabbit or something at the other end.

We broke in on a young naked couple mid-shag.

Certainly an experience that stuck in my mind.

Treading in a really icky dog turd!

Does that image help?

Thank you for your experiences, they made me chuckle. I'm sure I'll find a use for them somewhere.

On a more serious note, a couple of the things that have made an impression

going for a walk through the woods to the top of a hill very early in the morning to see the sunrise and being surrounded by the birds' dawn chorus as I've never heard it anywhere else - so incredibly loud. IT felt like we were surrounded by thousands of singing birds.

Laying on a clifftop and inching my way towards the edge to peer down into 'Hell's mouth' in Cornwall, with it being half hidden by seafog with just the booming waves noise and some of the spray leaping up the cliff out of the fog.

After a particularly pleasant walk in the country my partner and I were 'roused' to embrace nature and stripped of and got down to the business there and then on the path.

We were reaching climax when some some idiot burst forth (and it WASN'T me!) chasing their dog, shouting: "What is it Girl!" Needless to say the moment was ruined!

Getting lost in clouds and pouring rain on a precarious ridge trail in the Lake District.
The only shagging in the area was probably...the local sheep, undisturbed, in the soggy meadows.
Definitly too cold and wet for humans.

I went walking a few years ago also in the Lake District, from Glenridding across Striding Edge to Helvellyn and back. It was clear weather, and aside from the views along the way and at the top of Helvellyn, the most memorable sight was the sheep with red and blue wool. Not all over, but in large spots.
