This is the official link (hopefully it'll let me post it):
http://vietnamembassy.org.uk/index.php?action=p&ct=Consular%20Services%20for%20UK%20residents#VISA

I was also worried about finding the right link as it doesn't look like the most professional website, but this is definitely the right one - I've been back through my old emails to verify! If the link doesn't work, it's the Vietnam Embassy. org.uk one :)

Oh and I did the "apply by email, receive visa by post" option.

Right, see this is where it's confusing. That's the official embassy site, which is not an evisa, that's the proper visa service. The evisa site is the one linked from the foreign office that I posted above that's only $25 not the £55 + p&p on the embassy one. I think I'm just going to have to do the proper one, same as you did.

Ah sorry, I didn't realise it was two separate things! My mistake. I therefore cannot speak on the reliability of the e-visa for Vietnam!

Thanks for your help though. It's so confusing. You'd expect the government to post the correct link but I'm just not sure. Better to stick to the one via the embassy I think, like you did. :-)

I think that sounds like the right choice. It was very quick and stressfree so probably worth the extra money :). Very jealous that you're off to Vietnam, I would love to go back!

Trailfinders is not normally the sort of outfit that would con you into spending money that you didn't have to. If they said it was unreliable then I would accept that before I would most of the so called help you would get here.

Not sure how an Australian would know anything about Trailfinders.
