Thermae Spa - Bath, UK

Country forums / UK & Ireland / England

Hello,

We're heading for a weekend in Bath - some say this is too long, but there seems like plenty of things to do and no do (read relax).

We are planning a visit to the Thermae Spa, however are worried that we cannot book a ticket for the weekend. How do we get into the place without having the painful experience of lining up for hours? Any advice/experiences? The website says they hand out priority cards...

Thanks!

When we went there (last autumn I think), we didnt have to queue at all- just walked straight in. That was in the evening though, but that's the best time of day to go since you can watch the sunset in the rooftop pool.

We didn't want any treatments though, just the basic swim.

It is surprisingly small- I think that may be one reason it's so expensive- if they didnt price out most people, they'd be overflowing.

Sorry, did you go on a weekend day? Which day - Saturday or Sunday?

Is it worth checking out for a 2-hour session?

Yep, it was a Saturday. It did look quite busy when we wandered past earlier on during the day- I think the trick may be just to wait until the evening.

We did the 2 hour session and it was great. I would reccommend it. I think 2 hours was enough though. The rooftop pool was fantastic, but the Minerva bath was nothing special- just a warm swimming pool, not that spectacular.

It's overpriced but if you want to really relax, it's worth it (just).
