how does the Scotland part look? we are not sure if we allow enough time for the trip out west. my friend is interested in Aberdeen and that's why it's on the list, but we can skip and add to the west. if we add that day to the west trip, which location would people suggest?
any suggestions for driving route? Thank You.

Aberdeen doesn't appear to be on the list!! In any case, I'd skip it for sure. Glen Affric (near Loch Ness) is a beautiful part of the world. Stay at Tomich Hotel.

Aberdeen is not on the list, and I wouldn't add it either, you've more than enough as it is.

July 23 should have been --> Edinburgh / Aberdeen

we are thinking if we "skip" Aberdeen, then we will head West on July 23 and maybe spend one more night at Glencoe? I've read on TA that someone suggested Fort William over Oban... any comments?

TO = Toronto = home =)

Fort William is a bit of a dump, albeit a strategically-positioned one. Fort Augustus is much nicer, and not too far away. But to answer your question, Oban is nicer IMHO.

Fort William is indeed a dump. Handy for Ben Nevis though if you fancy walking up it.

Tyndrum is a good spot for lunch BTW. Just spent a few days trying to remember the name of the place!
