Aberdeen doesn't appear to be on the list!! In any case, I'd skip it for sure. Glen Affric (near Loch Ness) is a beautiful part of the world. Stay at Tomich Hotel. | 1 | |

oops! good eyes! we are thinking if we "skip" Aberdeen, then we will head West on July 23 and maybe spend one more night at Glencoe? I've read on TA that someone suggested Fort William over Oban... any comments? TO = Toronto = home =) | 3 | |
Fort William is a bit of a dump, albeit a strategically-positioned one. Fort Augustus is much nicer, and not too far away. But to answer your question, Oban is nicer IMHO. | 4 | |
Fort William is indeed a dump. Handy for Ben Nevis though if you fancy walking up it. | 5 | |
