Traveling from Bristol to Swansea for 4 days. Anything I should see along the way? In Swansea? Transport tickets haven't been booked yet.

How are you getting betwen the two places - as that may determine what there is to see. Also will you have access to car in Swansea or are you dependent on public transport?

I will have access to a car throughout my trip. That's why I was thinking there MIGHT be some sights to see along the way.

Between Bristol and Swansea, think about Chepstow , and attractive medieval town with a splendid ruined castle and also Tintern Abbey. Take the scenic "head of the Valleys" route along the A40 and A465rather than the quicker and more boring M4.
What sort of things are you interested in seeing? There is the Gower next to Swansea which is scenically very good. There are also th Brecon Beacons with lots of good walking. Cardfiff with its magnificent Castle and museums is just a short drive away. Add on the fairy tale Castell Coch to this. If you are into folk history there is St Fagan's Folk Museum with its reconstructed buildings... . Laugharne has connections with Dylan Thomas.

Thank you for the recommendations. I was wondering what there is to see because my previous commutes have been by car on the M4 or by public transport. So, in an effort to break the monotony, I will probably take the routes you have suggested. Thank you.
I live in England, so I have seen my fair share of medieval towns, but I'm always up for more history. Are there any Dylan Thomas tributes in Laugharne? Just wondering. I love the guy.

If you are into history - on the way to Swansea there is also Raglan Castle which is worth a visit. At Abergavenny you might want to stop on the A40 for a few more miles through Crickhowell to Tretower for Tretower Court and Castle.
In Laugharne there is the Boathouse where Dylan Thomas lived for the last four year of his life. This is now a museum celebrating his life and work (and also has a tea room).

There is also the Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. This is the setting for one of his best loved works, Poem in October, in which he describes a stroll around Laugharne on his 30th birthday. There are information boards about Dylan Thomas's life and work.

There is information about another Dylan Thomas walk here.

There are loads of ruined castles to visit too - Caerphilly, Kidwelly, Llansteffan, Weobley, Carreg Cennan, Old Beaupre, St Quentin's. Ogmore (with stepping stones...)
The best website for information and pictures is castles of Wales although this doesn't give you information about opening times. Many of the castles are in the care of CADW and a google search with the castle name and CADW will pull up the web site with information about visiting and opening times.
