| hyajil23:14 UTC12 Sep 2007 | I'm moving to Ireland from Canada on November 1st for a one-year working holiday and am wondering whether or not I'm likely to find any recreational sports leagues/teams like volleyball or curling looking for spares or regular players. I'm quite active here at home and was hoping that this might be a good way to make new friends and stay fit too.
I'll happily go to the gym too, and would realy like recommendations for good facilities in Dublin and Galway City.

Good gyms in both cities are plentiful - but if you don't want to fork out for membership to the larger chains (e.g. Jackie Skelly / Carlyse Health & Fitness) you can pay as you go at many of the university gyms 6 - 8euro drop in fee and surburb towns often have a local gym that won't burn a hole in your pocket.

They have netball, football, and touch rugby. I joined the netball league and met some really great people....would highly recommend it!
