Need to book accommodation in late August for a trip in Galway area?

Country forums / UK & Ireland / Ireland

We are four people going on a one week bicycle trip in the area just north of Galway, from August 20. Most likely we will need to sleep in the towns of Headford, Leenane, Clifden, Carraoe and on the Island of Inis MeƔin.

Would it be neccessary to book Bed and Breakfast accommodation in advance, or will we be ok if we just plan as we go? I don't know how busy the area is going to be, or how many accommodation possibilities there might be.

Thanks a lot for any info,
Lasse

Hi....

You're bound to find somewhere on spec.
There are so many B&B's on the west coast.
As an extra - try....

Best of luck with everything.

Agree with above, but want to put in a plug for Marless house in Galway - I stayed there a few years ago and my parents more recently. It's a charming little b&B just out of Galway (very easy/short bus ride into the town), and the breakfast is a-m-a
