I have a flight booked from Dublin to Lisbon via LHR.

Lands LHR @ 12.40.
Departs LHR @ 13.45.
Same terminal for arrival & departure.... Terminal 2.

I have an IRL passport and hand luggage only.

Will I be forced to to go through security again in LHR...?

And will I make the 2nd flight....?

The transit times in any connecting locations of any trip booked from origin to final destination, are all doable. Minimum connecting times are all taken into account.

Scary...clearly a bot.

Anyone else with any real insights?

Real insights ????
Some people shouldn't be allowed to fly.

I think you should withdraw, mefirst. As it happens, friendly_checkingirl is a long-time contributor here, and as an airline professional she has provided innumerable pieces of advice such as this, in relation to queries about flight connection times.

I suggest you apologise - you have a lot to learn about forum civility on here.

Thank you Jingili. I've been called many things but this is a first for a "bot".
I always thought that a bot was some sort of software application and nothing to do with flesh and blood.

When you were carting all that topsoil, I bet you wished you were a bot!

Perhaps our OP saw a well-constructed sentence, and immediately assumed no human being could have possibly written it.

One likes to provide a first class service but there is no getting away from it, when it comes to missed connections some passengers command a "schadenfreude" too exquisite to refuse :-D

Isn't the basic principle the one you articulated: if someone sells you a ticket from A to B, then the connection time is feasible, taking into account Schengen and non-Schengen issues?

Yes it is.
Minimum connecting times at any airport are "hot potatoes" when it comes to rankings in any routing searches. It's all about sales and revenue and there is no question that many punters search for the quickest routing. The higher you appear in any search the more likely you attract a sale and it's all about bums on seats. 5 minutes makes all the difference in rankings. Admittedly some connections are more suited to the sporty 20-something than to the slower 70-something but an hour to transfer through a terminal as in OPs case is not a problem.
