Getting from Gatwick to Heathrow

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me, I am arriving at Gatwick airport 9:20AM and need to catch a flight from Healthrow at 5:45PM, what would be the best way to get to Heathrow without spending huge amounts of money?

1 day travel card including Heathrow about £11 from Train station at Gatwick.

How long would that take?

prob about 5 mins at the ticket office including the queue.

You got enough time to take a train into central London, have lunch and then take the tube to Heathow

Several years ago, I caught a shuttle bus that operated between the two airports.
Can't remember the price. It took about an hour.

I'll add a few details to #1. A one-day zone 1-6 off-peak (after 09:30) travelcard costs £6.70. Since Gatwick is beyond zone 6, you'll have to buy a ticket to get from Gatwick to zone 6, thus bringing your total to around £11. Your travelcard will not be good on the Gatwick Express so take a Southern train from Gatwick to Victoria (40 minutes).

If you want to explore a bit on foot, use the left luggage facilities at Victoria Station.

Allow one hour for the tube ride from central London to Heathrow.

Go to www.tfl.gov.uk to download and print a tube map.

If you're not packing light and have a lot of luggage, take a National Express coach directly from Gatwick to Heathrow as described by #7. See the timetables and fares here.

Southern Trains doe a ticket that gives you free transport on all London buses & Tubes for the day. You can buy this at Gatwick Airport train station from the ticket office.

You must use the Southern Train service to Victoria which at 10:30-11:00am will be very quiet.

You should leave central London by 2:00pm in order to get your onward flight

A one day off peak travelcard from Gatwick to zones 1-6 costs exactly £10 - not 'about £11'. It's one ticket and you can buy it on the day at Gatwick. Use any non Gatwick Express train (after about 0930 in the week, any train at the weekend) to London, use the tubes and buses in London and then out to Heathrow.
