Football Matches in London on Saturday, 25/8

Country forums / UK & Ireland / England

Hello. I am interested in attending a football match in London on Saturday, august 25. This saturday!
I'd love to see Arsenal - Man City, but realise that this would be tough to get tickets to (samesame with Chelski).

however, what about West Ham? still tough? sold out? scalpers have tickets? how much would one expect to pay?
there are three of us. would it be impossible for us to sit together?

or, if anyone else has some suggestions, i'd be up for it. Maybe a lower division match? i know charlton plays at home on saturday. easy to get tickets?
I don't know what other teams are from London.
any advice would be great! I've never been to an English match!

I am staying at a hotel outside Heathrow.

Thanks...J

Check the club website and see what is available.

If you aren't sure of the we addresses you can go onto the bbc website and get to them through sport and football. Each club has it's own page and a link to thier own websites.

West Ham sold out. No chance of scalpers as the tickets are credited to a swipe card which is kept and used for future matches. Try some of the other clubs websites to see if they have any tics left.

To put it bluntly, you have virtually no chance of getting premiership tickets for the saturday game. I have listed the london and vaguely south east based games below. I think your best bet for tickets would be Charlton (there appear to be tickets available), Southampton (about a 1.5 hr train journey) or luton in division 1 (that is the 3rd best division just to confuse).

Arsenal v Man City, 15:00
Chelsea v Portsmouth, 15:00
West Ham v Wigan, 15:00
Charlton v Sheff Wed, 15:00
Southampton v Stoke, 15:00
Luton v Gillingham, 15:00

Good luck

Hmmmm, if you're keen to go to a football match then Brentford are playing at home on Saturday - it's League 2 (I know, I know) but it's not that far from Heathrow and there is something about going to a local match.......

Hell, I might even go myself now.

Arsenal sold out.

Charlton is easy enough to get tickets for usually, use their club website or call them direct.

It's a long way from Heathrow but you can reach there by public transport and combine it with a tourist visit to Greenwich

Very helpful - now I know I have some good options.

definitely looking into either the Brentford (most likely) or Luton Town matches.
Charlton is appealing...it'd be fun to see Pardew do his little touchline dances.

Thanks for your help!
