Dublin coast accommodationCountry forums / UK & Ireland / Ireland
For our last 2 nights in Ireland before flying on we are looking for hotels/b&b, etc, preferably close to and with a coastal view, but not essential, and preferably close enough to the rail so we can leave our car there at the station or at the accommodation if close enough to walk and don't have to drive and park in Dublin City. Just the 2 of us. East and north of the airport seems most logical and would appreciate any advice. Many thanks.
Have you considered staying in Dun Laogheirie (forgive the spelling). It's a 20 minute DART ride away from central Dublin, very quiet and right on the coast. Downside: last DART is around 2300, so it can cut your nightlife short. | 1
Dun Laoghaire is good for the coastal part though pretty far from the airport. There would be decent enough accommodation (Royal Marine Hotel just opened along with a few B&Bs) though nightlife is kinda sleepy and its a 20+ EUR cab ride to city if you miss that last train. Howth might be a good option that is closer to the airport though not sure of the accommodation options. Other than those, there's not much "coastal" near Dublin. | 2
