I've just remembered that Liv'poool is to be the city of culture next year. Does anyone know what they plan to do to mark this event, other than harp on about the Beatles and their wonderful sense of humour (which is all their bid organiser could do on the world service just before the final decision was made and he had the chance to talk their plans up)?

nothing I have heard about has anything to do with the Beatles. Most of the focus has been on the rebuilding of the city centre rather than the events. the new arena should have some decent gigs but i haven't heard who they are getting there when its finished.
