Castle Hotels

Country forums / UK & Ireland / Ireland

Hi guys and gals,
I'm looking to travel to Ireland late September / early October and am interested in spending at least one night in a castle. Anyone have any recommendations on a really good castle worth spending a night (or more) at? Then also interested in what you like about it - experience, amenities, location, price, etc? Thanks in advance for any insight!

I found a website with LOADS of beautiful castles with accommodation in them, at varied price ranges so there is sure to be a couple that take your fancy, and some of them really are beautiful

Hi OP,

Check out www.irishlandmark.com

They are a govt. organisation who conserve and run old heritage buildings from lighthouses to castles to 19th century schools as accomodation. They're best suited to gatherings of 4 or more and they tend to want a few days commitment but some of the areas are stunning and they regularly have great deals.

If you don't see anything that suits give them a ring and they may be able to advise.
