Why not just stay overnight there. From Arbroath visit Dunnottar Castle (near Stonehaven) and then on to Inverness. At Inverness I would do Culloden and Fort George. Get to Ullapool fairly quick and then do a loop up to Lochinver and back. South from Ullapool is a slow road if you hug the coast which I suggest you do for the wonderful scenery. Don't rush the day and stay the night at Plockton. Day 10 The castle at Kyle. I assume you mean Eilean Donan which is not actually at Kyle. Then drive to Oban (see below). Forget train trip to Mallaig. Maybe go out and back from FW by car as far as Glenfinnan. Make sure you go via Glencoe.
Unless you have specific plans for Oban l would leave it out and give yourself an extra day up North.

Also consider stopping off at Falkland (another pretty village, although larger, and Falkland Palace) on your way through Fife. Any particular reason for going to Cupar, or is it just on the route you're taking? What about St Andrews?
