Dear all,
I'm plannng to rent a car in Glasgow and visit some small cities (and distilleries) along the way to Edinburgh.
The period is probably the first fortnight of the year. Should I expect snow on these roads? Do you recommend this ride?

Cheers and VAI CORINTHIANS!!!

Now then,

I got back from 3 months of conservation work in the US almost a year ago now and I'm already wanting to get off again. Whilst I was over there I got told alot about WWOOFing and the idea of been given accommodation and food in return for work certainly floats my boat.

However due to work restraints I can't go next year so it would have to be 2014 and I'm wanting to go in winter, grow a beard and work on a farm. I'm talking like the highest of the Scottish highlands in the middle of…

Hello there,

Me and my girlfriend are planning a trip in Scotland starting from Hogmanay in Edinburgh. We've just booked places for the Edinburgh part of the journey and still considering how to spend the rest of the days. Our rough plan looks like this right now:

29,30,31-Edinburgh (Hogmanay) and around
1,2-Inverness, loch ness

3,4-Oban, Mull and around (maybe FW?)
5(day)-Loch Lomond
5(night)-Glasgow
6-Early flight from Glasgow

We're confused mostly in these points:

1-Most people say loch ness…

Is there anywhere in Glasgow city centre that has live jazz on a Saturday night? I'm heading up for the weekend next Friday so am looking for things to do on the Saturday night after dinner. Thanks.

I have two free days to explore Edinburgh January 11 and 12, 2013. Certainly know to see the Castle, however, what else is the must miss items for my agenda? Additionally where should I eat and drink? Open to all of your suggestions!

Hallo,

Some friends and I are planning a trip to the Isle of Skye in the first week of february 2013. We would like to go by car (from Belgium), and do some day hikes or a 4-5 day trek there. Are both possible this time of year?
What bugs me most of all (and I've been all around forums to look it up): can we camp on our way? Is the weather too unpredictable to sleep in a tent randomly? Is it too cold anyway?

Some tips from locals may come out handy.;)

Sincerely
Amelie

Hi everyone... my first time posting on here!

My partner and I are planning a month long trip to Scotland west coast, Small Isles & Outer Hebrides for April/May next year and I have been busy sorting out an itinerary. I am hoping you guys may be able to offer further tips on places to visit at some of the locations. Itinerary is below with bits in bold where there are queries on what to do. Also any advice on what we already have planned would be very welcome.

The plan is to travel light by…

Hello. I was wondering which location in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling or Inverness) is the best place to work (intern) abroad over the summer. I've heard good things about each place and I can't decide. Why should I choose one over the other? Which place is friendlier, cheaper, etc?! Any information would be appreciated!

I should specify that I am a student from the United States look to do internship work in publishing/broadcasting/journalism/PR. Either one is fine with me. Do you…
