H
We have one full day in Mallaig on 8 May and want to d oa trip to the small isles. Rather than just cruise around all the islands we would like to spend a little time on at least 2 of the islands. Can anyone recommend a tour operator who runs such a schedule? Any other hints or ideas greatly appreciated (we don't want to hike for hours or spend all day in tourist shops but other than that open to ideas.)

Thanks

Looking forward to this trip with husband and another couple in mid to late September. We would like to find places to stay with reasonable rates in Edinburgh including hostels if they are ok for middle age travellers. Also looking for some good hiking trips approx. 3 day lengths and can only find 7 days which is too long for our stay in Scotland. All 4 of us are experienced hikers.

I am considering visiting Orkney at Easter, March 29th to April 1st to visit Skara Brae and Maes Howe. Is it too late in the year for a possible sighting of the Northern Lights or are there periods during February to early March when a sighting is guaranteed?

Hi,

I've always fancied going to the Edinburgh Fringe and have found return flights from Cardiff (where I live) for £90 (flying up on Fri and back on Mon) and a youth hostel (I'm 27) where I can get 3 nights accommodation for a little over £100 and all this seems fine.

I know there will be plenty of things to go to when I get up there, but does anyone know when the outline program of events come out or have any tips for the event in general?

Hi

My husband is heading off adventuring on his own for a month or so in Northern Scotland in August and I was wondering if anyone knew which mobile phone carrier worked best in this area for both internet (on a tablet) and mobile phones?

Thank you for your help
Mel

Hi
I'm planning a visit the last week of March. I'm told this is a good place to view Whales and other marine life, as well as stunning scenery.
Where on the Isle is the best place to see these things.

Thanks

After attending a wedding in Edinbugh, we (dad mum and girl) are planning to rent a car and spend a few days around NE Scotland. Does anyone have an opinion on the places below, and their feasibility in these many days:

Day one - Edinburgh to Stonehaven, visit Dunnottar Castle

Day two - to Kildrummy, visit Craigievar Castle, maybe a stone circle if accessible (does anyone know about the best one around?)

Day three and four - back to Edinburgh through Ballater, Braemar and Glenshee, with two…

I'm in the midst of planning my trip to England, Scotland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands and my itinerary is pretty set for the rest of the trip, but with Scotland - I'll be heading up to Edinburgh on Saturday, May 18th to visit friends (and others from around the UK will be meeting us there) and my question is this - I know I'll be spending the day and night with my friends and then Sunday, May 19th will be in Edinburgh before heading off on my own - I have two days to play around with…

I've got to do some work from 9am-3pm on Monday in Edinburgh, and I'm looking for a cafe or pub that will be open during that time and offers free wi-fi. I'm staying in Stockbridge but anywhere fairly central would be good!
