s1jobs is probably your best bet for general jobs including marketing and communications. There will no doubt be specialist job searches and there will definitely be specialist recruitment agencies based in Glasgow for that sector. Unfortunately I dont work in it and neither do any of my pals here in Glasgow so I cant really advise you on that front.

You would have no problem finding hospitality work assuming that means working in a pub.

This is the link to find out about nursing registration. In brief it takes ages, costs a fortune and in my opinion isn't worth it if you're only going for the stated period.

Nursing and Midwifery Council for nurse registration in UK - see http://www.nmc-uk.org/ Bizarely, nurses from English speaking countries have to prove their language ability, but not anyone from non-English speaking European Union countries - many of whom do have good English, but many people even from other parts of the UK have problems understanding local accents and dialects. I speak as someone who has worked as a nurse in London, Birmingham and Tyneside, and in other jobs in Scotland, although having Scottish grandparents gave me a headstart with understanding.

Whoops sorry about my typo - yes I meant March 2010 so about a year from now.

Thanks everyone. S1 did look like it had quite a few jobs although most of them were more senior roles and I'm still fairly early in my career so not really suitable for these.

My boyfriend did some research about nursing and knows it looks like a jerk of a process but he hasn't made up his mind yet. As a career move I think it'd be great but since the plan is to go just for a year then it may not be worth it as you say.
