Hi,

I am planning a week trip to the West Coast, with wife & 2 kids (6 & 3). Picking up a campervan in Glasgow.

Current skeleton plan is:

Glasgow - Glencoe - Portree - Applecross - Ullapool - Lochinver - Glasgow

Any ideas/views on unmissable locations/boozers/events/campsites/viability of the tour?

Cheers.

Nothing wrong with itinerary.
All locations are unmissable because of the views
Boozers - don't neeed then if you have 2 kids
Events - depend upon when you are going
Campsites - are for campers
Viability - no problem - you probably will have plenty of midges to accompany you

7 stops in as many days might be a bit rushed; the cities aren't that far apart, but it's slow driving. I seem to remember there being a campsite next to the youth hostel in Torridon, which would be a good stop. Incredible scenery and lots of great hiking. When are you planning on going and what type of sights/activities are you interested in?

Sounds a bit like what Dad wants to do, see everything. But Dad should realise that 3-year-olds have no inhibition about showing their disapproval, and will disapprove of a longish drive every day, even if they don't immediately show it. Dad should also realise that trying to see everything he'll probably end up seeing very little. I'd choose a smaller area, or perhaps two, and do some shorter-distance exploring of that area. It doesn't need a famous name, in fact it is less famous places that are often the more enchanting. More opportunity for the kids to have fun, on beaches, in streams, over rocks. Torridon would be a good centre for a few days. Morvern and Ardnamurchan, the area just over Loch Linnhe via the Corran Ferry from near Glencoe, could easily fill a week.
