Hi
My father and I are planning a short three days trip in Scotland. We are flying into Edinburgh Saturday around noon. Our plan is then to rent a car in the airport. We are leaving again Tuesday, and we are staying in Edinburgh the last night. We want to se the beautifully Highland. Our question is; Which other two cities should we visit?

To British people, the word "city" implies "large town" and thus if your aim is to visit Edinburgh and some of the Highands in such a short trip, you haven't really time to visit other cities. But perhaps you were using the word in the American sense, meaning an urbanisation of any size.

Given your short timescale, wanting to see a bit of the Highlands, concentrate on the Trossachs and nearby areas which is roughly the region between Loch Tay and Loch Lomond. There is quite a choice of nice small towns or villages to stay in - Lochearnhead is one nice example. But there's plenty of others. Be aware that Callander as it is a bit of a tourist trap.

Thank you - I was using the word in america sense, so i meant "villages"

A last question; Have the trees got their leaves in late april start may?

Not everything would normally be in full leaf then, especially in cooler spots - you can still see daffodils in cooler spots at that date. But if this endless winter we are suffering this year carries on for much longer, (my daffodils haven't even opened yet, and I live near London) there might be not much at all in leaf by then.
