Hello,

I'm looking for a way to Elgin from Aberdeen airport on the 29.04 I'll be arriving at 22:00, thus trains are not an option anymore, and neither are busses. I found a taxi-fare calculator that came up with about 130 GBP. Is this a realistic price, or are there taxi services that I can pre-book to a fixed, maybe lower price and don't have to queue at the taxi stand?

The alternative would be to get a taxi into town, stay in a hotel near the station and take the train very early next morning, which isn't too appealing to be honest.

Looking forward to your advise.

Pre-booked taxis are called minicabs, and should be perhaps about 30-40% cheaper than taking a taxi off the stand. I expect that staying overnight in Aberdeen will be cheaper whichever way you cut it.

Thanks, minicabs. That helps! I'll request some quotes as I think a night in an Aberdeen hotel will be more expensive, more tiresome and I might be just too late at my destination if I take the train. Hotel-wise Aberdeen looks bad as always: not much available anymore, and from 140 GBP onwards.

Unless I need to pay for an extra night in Elgin (might be included in the total price)
