I'm flying to Dublin in mid-August, and have 13 days, excluding the overnight flight at the beginning and the last day when I leave. My flight lands very early in the morning (6-7 am), so I figured I'd hop a bus to Belfast for the first couple days (I see buses leave straight from the airport). I would spend about 2-3 days at the end in Dublin.

In between, I'd like to explore more of the countr(y/ies).
I would love to find a couple places I could spend a day hiking (long hikes are fine, but no…

My friend has received an invitation to her school reunion in Dublin. But it's in two weeks' time and her (Irish) passport has expired, leaving her no time to get a renewal.
She is of the opinion that she can take the ferry with her car and just present her (UK-issue) driving licence. It would be a great pity if she was turned away. I think she'll be ok with it as she lives in England and her car is also registered here. But she's in her 80s and has no internet, so I said I'd check with you…

Hi - looking at the Dublin airport website and travel info I'm pretty sure this is all going to be no problem but thought I'd run it past the forum: I'm arriving into Dublin airport at 11:10 a.m. on a Sunday morning, and am flying out again at 17:20 same day. That's a 6 hour layover. Seeing the number and frequency of buses to the city centre, it should be absolutely no problem whatever for me to stash my bag at the airport and head into town for a few hours, have lunch and head back to catch my…

I am deciding on my next trip to Europe and was heavily thinking about if I should go to Dublin and Belfast or Amsterdam/and somewhere in Belgium?

When I go to Europe I usually go with the idea of site seeing and history. Which is why I have gone to Berlin and Munich for WWII history and Camps and Third Reich and also Rome and Istanbul for Ancient History of the Roman Empire.

I really want to see the Titanic Exhibit in Belfast and I know I won't need a lot of time for Dublin/Belfast neither a…

Dear Forum,

I will be in Ireland for two months, June1st-August 3rd. I arrive in Dublin for 4 days and then I have three weeks to backpack before arriving in Limerick. I would love to know what I must see. I have all of my backacking and camping gear and am interested in backpacking at Connemara, Killarney, and The Burren national parks. I also would like to hike in the Aran Islands and the Kerry Way. I am having a difficult time finding official campsites. I do not plan to rent a car. I…

Hey everyone!

I will be in arriving in Dublin May 29 and leaving June 26. I've never been to this beautiful country and would love to meet other travelers. I'm a 24 year old Canadian looking to do some sight seeing and also traveling to Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Alternatively, if you've got tips for me, places to stay, to go to, where to meet people, things not to miss, please share!

Thank you!!

Hey
I am planning a 5 days trip to Ireland with my partner, taking a flight from London. I am confused whether I should take a flight to Dublin or Belfast from London as I wana cover Northern Ireland as well. Places I want to cover are:

-1 Day sight-seeing of Dublin (Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Castle, Trinity College, St. Patrick's Cathedral, National Museum, Dublin Zoo). Should I add or exclude anything from the list which is not worth? Can I do all in 1 day?
- Belfast Titanic Museum, a few…

Mom’s Trip to Ireland

Helping my mom plan a trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland. She is visiting family in the Netherlands for two weeks but first is heading to Ireland for two weeks. She is recently divorced and travelling on her own. She’s 60. She can do short walks, but anything longer than a couple of miles/kms at a time is too much for her back/knees, so no major athletic endeavours for her. Castles, scenery, quaint towns and shops, pubs (or wineries) and music are all up her alley.
