Hi, I'm going to be in Dublin for a few days and I have a fwe questions,

First of all getting around Dublin, how does one do it? We're renting a car and that helps make up for lack of public transport (that I know about.) Most of the things I want to see are on the south side but a few are in the north, like the Airport. I want to visit Kilhiman Goal, but I keep hearing its farther away from the city center. When's the best time to visit Trinity College and Christ Church Cathedreal?? I know…

So this is my third (and quite possibly last, at least for a good while) trip to Ireland while stationed in Germany. My first trip was alone to the Dingle Peninsula for 3 nights, I had a rental car, it was March, and it was one of the best long weekends I can remember. My second trip was with a group of friends to Dublin on St. Patrick's Day weekend this year, I could tell I would have enjoyed myself much more at a different time but it wasn't really my thing.

Anyway... this trip will be a…

Hi, I will be in Dublin for a week in late June, but have four days off afterwards to see a bit of Ireland. I am thinking, perhaps drive West on the freeway to Galway, to a) locate a nice town with a nice place to stay to use as a base, or B) for two nights, then move on for another two nights. Will be looking for a relaxing four days, with music, scenery and some short walks, not driving all day every day. Any tips?

Hi There,

My boyfriend and I are heading to Ireland soon from New Zealand. We are going to be playing hockey for a club over there that has sorted us out with accommodations jobs and a car.

One of the guys from the club will be loaning us a car for the duration of our stay (about 11 months). BUT we need to sort out insurance. The car will not be in our names and we are not renting it.

One person has said that we might just have to get it over there but it will cost around 2000 euro of the…

Will be touring Ireland and Northern Ireland weeks of June 11th to June 22nd.

Proper clothing? By that I mean for warm weather, rain, cold,???

Temps will be like June in the U.S.A.?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello! I'll be traveling to Dublin next month for a week long study abroad trip through my graduate school program and am planning to extend my stay. I'll be studying in Dublin for the week, but will be in class all day, venturing out to the pubs at night. I'll have 3.5 days at the conclusion of the class to explore Dublin and/or travel to other parts of Ireland. I have never been to Ireland before and want to try and see as much as I can while I'm there.

Can someone suggest hotel/hostel…

Hi Everyone!

I'm going to be in Dublin for one day in August, and I would like to learn how to cook some Irish cuisine. I've searched a bit on Google and haven't found a single school that cooks Irish cuisine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Wondering about accomodations the last night before we leave Shannon to back home in the states. Seems there are two choices nearby: the Bunratty Castle thing which just seems maybe a bit too touristy or the hotel/motel on the grounds of the airport. Could there be something in between someone could suggest - maybe a nice dinner or low key pub along with accomodations and possible transport to the airport early in the morning? Would be a treat to turn in our car the day/evening before to make…

My husband and I will be visiting Ireland in September. We will be arriving in Dublin and then doing self drive. I have labored over an itinerary, and am completely overwhelmed. Not sure if we are attempting too much, going to places that might not be worth the time, or missing something worthwhile. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Interests include Irish history, ancient archeological sites, scenic attractions, and genealogy. Looking into family history is one of the…
