Hello Ireland Experts,
My husband and I are going to Ireland for the first time leaving on July 10. We are flying into Dublin and out of Shannon. We are staying in Dublin for 2 nights and then renting a car. We would love comments/feedback on our overnight locations. Are we driving too much? Does this route make sense? I have been reading so many travel books and my head is spinning :- ) Thank you so much to all responder in advance!

Jul 11 / 12 - Dublin for 2…

Hi,

I will spend 2-3 days in Ireland in the first half of july. I would like to either rent a car or a motorbike and take some nice and scenic roads across the country. I can easily make 300-400 km a day so what are your suggestions for the routes areas to cross?

Hello all! I am new to the LonelyPlanet forum! I will be taking a trip next month through Europe starting with Ireland. It is my understanding that as a US citizen I am not required to have a visa to visit Ireland for up to a 90 day stay. I am starting in Ireland and will be travelling to other countries in Europe (England, Belgium, France, Switzerland). My question is, are there any complications with entering Ireland again after I have left and gone to other countries? This will all be within…

So I've been trying to book somewhere to stay for my week in the Galway area July 10-17. I've read a lot of really mixed reviews on what seems like just about every hostel in the area. I'm used to reading a couple bad reviews mixed in with the good ones but it seems like just about every hostel around Galway is getting either very good or very bad reviews regularly. Any input would be great, I'll be traveling alone so I wouldn't mind staying somewhere more focused on meeting people and number…

I did check the tech forum out, but since we have a specifically-Ireland questions, wanted to check here too: We are looking into mobile phones we can use just for the 30 days we are in Ireland next month. Here in the US, you can buy cheap pay-as-you-go phones that come with a SIM card with limited minutes. We are wondering if we can do a similar thing in Ireland? Also, I know we can buy SIM cards there ... If we bought cheap pay-as-you-go phones here in the US, could we just buy the SIM card…

Hi all, I'm new here and this is my first post.

I'll be going to Europe alone for the first time in March. I've been to Western Europe before but it was with my family and was on a tight schedule. This time I'll be flying into Dublin and have 2 weeks completely unplanned. All I've done so far is reserve a hostel for each night in Dublin just in case (I will be there over St. Pat's day and didn't want to get screwed out of a place to stay). I'm really excited about Dublin but I know I don't want…

Howdy! My husband and I are traveling to Ireland in September, and originally thought we had about ten days. As such, I planned our itinerary to look like this:

07 Arrive/Dublin
08 Dublin
09 Bru Na Boinne, Kells
10 Sligo
11 Cruachan Ai, Galway
12 Ballyvaughan, Lough Gur
13 Dingle Peninsula
14 Portmagee, Killarney
15 Cork, Dungarvan
16 Glendalough/Wicklow NP
17 Dublin/Leave

It turns out, however, that we have two extra days- and I'm not sure where I want to spend them! When it comes to cities we love…

Dear All,

In August I am travelling from Killarney to Cliffs of Moher and then next day to Belfast. Please advise on following 2 questions:

  1. What is the closest town with guest-house to Cliffs of Moher and how far is it?
  2. Is there any direct bus connection between all 3 places mentioned?

Thank u very much in advance, it is my first time in Ireland.

David
