Hey Guys,

So I'm thinking about taking a last minute trip and I'm between going to either Ireland or Spain. My question for you guys, (as if you couldn't tell by the title,) is what the weather is like at the end of Sept./early Oct. in Ireland? Having lived in a desert for the past several years I'm looking forward to some actual weather. I just need to know if I need to pack winter boots or not. =) Thanks for your help!

Coldish, a bit wet. It is Ireland, be prepared for cold and rain at all times but at that time of the year not snow. Bring a rain coat, good boots (IMO - Iive in my Gortex Timberlands but it sort of depends on what you plan to do, if you want to go stomping along trails or off concrete, then yeah, boots), and layers.

Having said that, there is some mad talk about snow in Ireland in October but they are talking about late October.

You can look historical data on here and decide by yourself if it's what you are looking for.

Sept can often be really nice but it's best to be prepared for rain and cold just in case. Even if the daytime is nice it will be cold at night.

That's the great thing about Irish weather ....... you can have all four seasons in one day! Its hit or miss .... but I would bet on at least some rain.
