Hi everyone, This Saturday i will be joining my boyfriend in Ireland for a 8 nights road trip.
Arriving at Knock airport, we will spend nights in the fallowing places.
20/06 Drive to Westport, climb Crough Patrick
21/06 Galway
22/06 Cliffs of Moher
23/06 Cork, on our way to Kilkenny we will pass the Rock of Cashel
24/06 Kilkenny
25/06 Portarlington, spend a night with his family
26/06 Dublin, is it worth spending 2nights in Dublin or should we arrange an accommodation else where?
27/06 Dublin.
I really can do with some help on things to do, affordable places we can go to eat. We are not fussy, we will be staying in hostels, cooking some other nights we just want to see Ireland.
All your help will be greatly appreciated.

That's a busy trip with lots of driving.
Westport and Croagh Patrick are definately worth it. A night in Galway is good (just the one, though :)
My usual advice is to skip the Cliffs of Moher (over-developed, over-priced, and over-populated) and get over instead to the Aran Islands. Parking is free at the ferry terminal. You cannot imagine how much better an experience Aran is compared to the cliffs of Moher. The problem is, Aran is definatley worth at least 2 nights.
Cork to Kilkenny is a big drive - I don't know what you want to see on the way through, considering that the Rock of Cashel will take up a couple of hours.
Dublin is also worth two nights.
